The history(story) of the group is told in 192 pages, since its stammerings, there in 1987. It was first of all about a duet trained(formed) by the guitarist and the singer Billie Joe Armstrong, and the bass player Mike Dirnt, named Sweet Children. The group is renamed Green Day in 1989 and welcome then a new member(limb): the drummer(beater) Tré Cool. The successes are also told, as that of their first album, "Dookie", in 1994, up to their last "very politically incorrect" album, "Americain Idiot", published(edited) in 2006.

While they are hardly fifteen years old, two school friends, Billie Joe Amstrong and Mike Dirnt, Sweet Children. Renamed Green Day in 1989 according to one of their songs, they are signed at first on an independent label then by the very important label Record Resumption. Meanwhile, their first drummer(beater) Al Sobrante was replaced in baguettes by Trè Cool. The infernal trio is in place(square), the adventure can really begin. Their formula is simple: a cocktail(cocktail party) hyper vitaminé of Punk rock, effective and concise melodies, the whole served with often acid texts which go up to the purpose. From 1994, in full grunge wave takes(brings) out Dookie, first album of the group to meet a massive success. But the success exactly, if it fatigues them physically, does not change them fundamentally. The Californian trio has never denied its modest origins(background) and kept(guarded) feet on earth(ground), in grip(taking) express with what they are really.
